WELCOME AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Welcome Parents and Students to a New Year! This year I will be teaching Grade 4 Language and Math in the mornings, and Grade 6 Language, Math and Religion in the afternoons. I am extremely excited about teaching some of my old friends again this year and to be able to make some new ones too.
I will be using this blog as a tool for communication between home and school, so please check it on a regular basis. I will also post links to school newsletters, twitter feeds and tweets, and inform you of assignments, homework and upcoming events. You can find a link to my blog on the school website, conversely, I have placed a sticker with the address inside the front cover of your child's agenda.
Last week, I sent home a newsletter from the school as well as one from me. Thank you to all who have sent back all the paperwork required to start of the year, including making their Student Activity Fee payments.
I look forward to meeting parents this Thursday September 22, 2016 from 5-7pm where I will go over the curriculum for grades 4 and 6 and be available to answer any questions you may have. It is also nice to put a face to a name!
Some important dates are quickly approaching, so please mark your calendars for the following dates:
Program Night: Sept. 22
Grade 4 Carp Fair Field Trip: Sept. 23
Terry Fox Run: Oct. 6
PD Day: Oct. 7
Picture Day: Oct. 19
*** Grade 6 Leaving Ceremony: Friday June 23, 2017, Holy Spirit Parish, 1:00 pm
Lastly, I'd like to leave you with a few pictures of my Grade 6 class working on a "Getting to Know You" Activity, where they discussed and discovered common interests, gifts and experiences they had between them. The students created a web of yarn, demonstrating how we are all connected to each other.
